Prayer Requests - Week of 6/22/2008

Please pray for the Dilks' family. Scott Dilks drowned in Lake Nac. this weekend.

Travis and Shelby will be moving to Waco this weekend. They just found out that their apartment won't be ready as planned so they are working on a temporary situation in Waco since their lease in Nac is up on June 30. Please be in prayer for them as they may need to move things twice and are unsure of where they will be staying.

Jordan and Heather will be moving in a couple of weeks.

Shelly is in the hospital at Memorial with e coli. Hopefully she will be getting out today.

If you made it to either worship service on Sunday, you had the privilege of hearing Sharon Miller sing The Real Me, a song by Natalie Grant. The song has a really good message and Sharon did a great job singing it. Below is a video of Natalie Grant singing it with some of her thoughts and reasons for writing it.

Game Night

We had a good social at the Madrid's home. Due to technical difficulties, we couldn't use the deep fryer, but April saved the day by frying up the catfish on the stove top. We had a good meal with some friends.

After dinner a couple of families had to go home to get the younger kids to bed, but we still had a good group that stayed to play games. It was a lot of fun. We will definitely have to do another game night in the near future.

I wish I'd taken a few more pictures, but it wasn't easy being a host and the photographer at the same time.

Church Picnic

First Baptist of Nacogdoches kicked off Vacation Bible School this week beginning with a church-wide picnic/VBS celebration. Remember to pray for thechildren, parents, and volunteers by using the prayer suggestions that they handed out at the picnic.

A few from our Sunday School class made it out to the picnic. There's a few pics below - I got to take a break; April was the photographer for the night.
