Did you know that you can listen to some of Dr. Reed's messages ONLINE? Or that you can "Reed All About It"...ONLINE?

The fbcnac.org website is a great resource that can be used to keep up to date with what's going on at the church, but also to help minister to others.

Right in the middle of the menu bar is the "Ministries" drop down menu that allows you to explore all the different outreach programs that are going on at FBC Nacogdoches.

Under "Resources", there are a couple of videos that are available for viewing, as well as some "Online Messages" that you can download.

Plus, you can view a church calendar, read about the church and staff, find contact information, and much more... Go check it out right now: http://www.fbcnac.org/

Below is a recent "Reed All About It" that is currently posted on the website.

Hunker Down

“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up”
(James 4:10, NKJV)

The headline for the Friday, September 12, 2008 issue of The Daily Sentinel read: “HUNKER DOWN.” Hurricane Ike was on its way to East Texas and we were warned to take cover and stay put until the storm passed. The expression “HUNKER DOWN” got my curiosity going, so I looked up the word in the dictionary. The dictionary defines “HUNKER” as meaning “to squat” or “to get as close to the ground as one possibly can in order to hide out or take shelter.” The Bible doesn’t use the works “HUNKER DOWN,” but it does use the word “humility.” The Greek word for “humility” is “humas” and it literally means “the ground,” which signifies a lowly state of mind. Humility, or “HUNKERING DOWN” before the Lord is the proper attitude one should have. Such an attitude is a good way to find shelter and to hide out. Micah 6:8 reads, “He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” Robert J. Hastings wrote, “Humility is not the frosting on the cake; rather it is the basic ingredient in the batter. Humility is not the flagpole atop the building, it is the unseen foundation beneath the surface. Humility is not a desirable ‘extra’ in the Christian life; it is the basic virtue on which all others rest.”

A LITTLE HUMOR:

A preacher was deathly sick in the hospital. Following the regular meeting of his deacons, they sent him this message, “Your deacons have voted to pray for your recovery by a vote of 15 to 5.”
